    The date must be wrong. I can't even make October 1945 to fit with what we know about the XF-12. To the right we have possibly the RC-1 (fore runner of the ultimate RC-3 Seabee). That aircraft had a first flight Nov 30th 1944. However the XF-12 had a first flight on Feb 7th 1946! Even if this is the first roll-out of the aircraft, I cannot imagine it sat idle for months before testing began. Admittedly I don't know the roll out date for the XF-12, but I doubt it was too many days ahead of the first flight. I would date this photo to late Jan or early Feb 1946. Stig
