As per the book Consolidated Aircraft Corporation, by Katrina Pescador, pg. 38, in the description of this same photo: The XP3Y-1 was issued to Patrol Squadron 11 in 1937 for service testing and was assigned to the squadron commander as 11-P-1

The aircraft in the left foreground, US Navy Douglas TBD-1 Devastator, BuNo 0300 (c/n 1782), VT-2 (Torpedo Squadron 2), was lost on May 8, 1942, with the sinking of USS Lexington (CV-2) during the Battle of the Coral Sea.
