The next Liberator in line, Consolidated B-24J-145-CO Liberator 44-40115, served with the 492nd BG, 858th BS, as "Militant Mistress" but was lost on May 29, 1944 on a mission to Politz, 1 KIA, 9 POW.

But the bigger mystery of how they ever got the figs into the Fig Rolls is solved here...

Freeman's Journal of May 26 1883 reported a fire at Messrs Jacob's Biscuit Factory in Peter Street. The damage done was enormous", but could have been worse but for the actions of the night watchman, Patrick Mooney, and the Fire Brigade under the command of Captain Boyle and Lieutenant Boyle.

There's a ground floor floorplan of the factory available and I think I can make out a "cutter room" towards the centre. (However, the floorplans date from 1956, so I presume there may have been a few changes made.)

This is a photo of the end of B-24 Liberator production at Consolidated - San Diego. The front to back, the three aircraft are Consolidated B-24M-45-CO Liberator bombers, USAAF Ser Nos. 44-42720 (c/n 6656), 44-42721 (c/n 6657), and 44-42722 (c/n 6658). 44-42722 was the last Liberator bomber to roll off of Consolidated's Liberator production line. All of these last Liberators in the photo would be converted into F-7B photo reconnaissance aircraft.
