    This is a photo of Lt. Ray L. Cornick (December 10, 1913 - February 3, 1944), Killed in Action (KIA). As per the Imperial War Museum's (IWM) American Air Museum website: "Failed to Return (FTR) Ramrod to Wilhelmshaven in P-47D 42-8563. Attempting to catch formation prior to climb on instruments through overcast, overshot formation and not seen thereafter, crashed into North Sea. Killed in Action (KIA) 3-Feb-44.     This aircraft is a Convair T-29B, USAAF Ser. No. 51-5164 (c/n 240-295). It'd later be converted to a VT-29B, before being sold and registered as N80150 in 1979. By 1990, it was reportedly scrapped at Mojave Airport (MHV /KMHV). Identity of the model is revealed elsewhere in the SDASM collection, Miss Lucille Thomas.
