Lovely shot of the park

The park looks alot smaller these days.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/61271636@N05] It is, successive realignments of York Street - now a major bus terminal, and the buiding of the city railway (1926-32) changed the character of the park. And of course the buildings that surround it now are "monsters" compared to the lovely Edwardian streetscape we see in the photograph. The terraces in the shot are where Transport House now sits. I vaguely remember the buildings to the left, I think Selby's was in that block, or the one next to it, along with the Sydney rep for the West Australian Newspaper, when I was despatch boy (1963!) we always said that the lift in the West Australian newspaper building was the slowest in Sydney.
