A NAA P-51A Mustang 43-6233 (Model NA-99) in flight, one of 1200 P-51As ordered for the USAAF in August 1942. However, only 310 were delivered as P-51As with Allison V-1710-81s -- the lion's share being delivered as P-51B/Cs with RR (Packard) Merlin V-1650-3s replacing the original Allisons.
North American's P-51 Mustang Fighter is in service with Britain's Royal Air Force, N[orth] A[merican] Aviation, Inc., Inglewood, Calif. (LOC)
