    This particular aircraft is a photo reconnaissance variant of the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, a Lockheed F-4 Lightning (USAAF Ser. no. 41-2217, c/n 222-5435). Note the covered gun ports and large camera window on the port side of the nose behind the number "17."
