  The original image appears highly edited. The troops in the foreground are from a different source photo than cannons, which are again a different source photo from the background itself.

  The First Ostend Raid (part of Operation ZO) was the first of two attacks by the Royal Navy on the German-held port of Ostend during the late spring of 1918 during the First World War. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Ostend_Raid

  The airship looks like it's pasted in, too. Since this is earlier than 1918 in the general Bain picture flow, this might be an illustration from closer to the time the Germans took Ostend in mid-October, 1914. Are those German flags flying and German soldiers on the embankment?
