Nordlandskatedralen is not "still standing", Bodø Domkirke however is built at its spot. Almost all of Bdø was bombed by the germans at may 27th 1940, leaving only a few bulidings standing.

This is taken by one of Bodø's first professional photographers. Her name was Louise Engen (1873-1947), and she grew up on a farm called Jensvoll - just a few kilometers outside today's city center. She got her photography education in Oslo, England and USA before returning to Bodø. The local museum here in Bodø has got a copy of this photo as well, and states that it's taken somewhere between 1900 and 1940. I think this photo was taken from the island "Store Hjertøya" late July, between 6 and 8 PM, based on the angle of the light.

Wow, what a neat photo, and great find. My mother's family was from this town, but immigrated to the US before WW2.
