This is Bill Boeing's (yes, that "Boeing") personal Douglas Dolphin (NC14205 / c/n 1280) named "Rover." This aircraft is still extant and currently on exhibit, albeit painted in United States Coast Guard colors, at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida. Here's a relatively recent photo of the aircraft from Steffen Kahl's Flickr photostream:

Douglas Dolphin 117 c/n 1280 NC14205 owned by William Boeing, and named Rover. This is the sole surviving example of the Dolphin, and this very aircraft currently resides in the US Navy Museum in Pensacola, FL, masquerading as a Coast Guard example. After Boeing sold it, it was used during the war years by the CAA, the predecessor to the current FAA.
