  Zijn de foto's van het strand in dezelfde serie gemaakt? Het lijkt me zeer vreemd dat deze man onfatsoenlijk gekleed zou zijn... Vergelijk ook de andere foto's waar mannen met geheel ontbloot bovenlichaam op staan.

  @ it is aai: de foto's uit deze set zijn niet afkomstig uit één serie. Wel zitten er elf foto's van de fotograaf Van de Poll tussen (datum onbekend). Maar die zijn vrijwel zeker later gemaakt dan deze foto uit 1931. Zie ook de foto "Stadsstrand Amsterdam" uit 1923, waar geen volwassenen maar alleen kinderen met geheel ontbloot bovenlijf op te zien zijn. In onze archieven zijn meer foto's te vinden van mensen die op de bon geslingerd werden omdat ze naar de normen van die tijd niet zedig genoeg gekleed waren.

  @Nationaal Archief: Interessant. Toch mooi dat dus ook toen al relatief weinig handhaving was, zodat ze op die andere foto's allemaal "onzedelijk" konden zijn! :-)

  De beste man draait zich waarschijnlijk om in zijn graf als hij de hedendaagse stranden ziet :)
