    A Better Title would be Holyoke, Massachusetts, as that is the name of the city in the photograph. Mount Holyoke is the name of the mountain in the far distance in the image.

    I believe you have either got the wrong town or name for this building listed for this image. If it is indeed the West Boylston Manufacturing Company then this photo was taken in Easthampton Massachusetts. You have posted several corroborating photos such as the one of St. Brigid's cemetery, located across the river from this building, which leads me to believe that this is indeed the West Boylston Manufacturing Company. The West Boylston Manufacturing Company was moved to Easthampton from West Boylston Ma around 1899 when much of the town of West Boylston was demolished for the Wachusett Reservoir. It is one of a series of reservoirs that supplies water to the city of Boston. Too bad Hines didn’t photograph that project as it would have been right up his ally. There also are two references to Mt. Holyoke, but neither is a town. One is a college which is in Hadley Ma and the other is a peak on the Holyoke range. The peak is very close to Easthampton, being just across the Connecticut River, which might account for the inaccuracy. As a side piece of history Mt Holyoke is the peak depicted in Thomas Coles’ The Oxbow.
