As far as I can tell through the trees, it seems to have more or less the right collection of hills in the background. www.google.ie/maps/@53.2436472,-6.4561343,3a,75y,126.71h,...

There were two ponds / reservoirs but one of them has been dry for many years. There is a fly fishing club in residence on the remaining pond (the one photographed). If memory serves the ponds were built to provide water power to mills / factories in Clondalkin?

National Library of Ireland on The Commons Looking at the map, it looks more as if they're to provide a reserve to power Swiftbrook mills. The pond was further downstream in the 6" than in the 25", and today, although both areas are marked as ponds the overhead shows that the downstream one is still just liable to floods.
