A speculative long-shot. Is this Nigel Anselm E Adams, born Dover, 1899? No indication that he joined the Royal Navy though.//

Z/7170 Able Seaman Nigel Anselm Edward Adams served in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve from 1918. Unlikely to be him. Not a bad try though. Scouring the Forces War Records site, but not having much success! Probably safe to say that this man survived the war.

Then perhaps it is not N E Adams, but instead H E Adams, - perhaps Midshipman Harold Edward Adams who, in 1918, was a Sub-Lieutenant on HMS DANUBE II ? This appears to have been a Royal Navy Rescue Tug.//

Harold Edward Adams was born on 3rd September 1898. He was Commissioned as a Midshipman in 1914, and completed his Royal Navy Service in the rank of Commander. National Archive Record ADM 196/121/1.//

He has naval service records at The National Archives discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/s/res?_col=onl... The catalogue information shows he was Geoffrey John Tress Bahin, born 29 June 1896. He joined the Royal Navy in September 1914 and subsequently achieved the rank of Commander. Interestingly the catalogue search also picks up naturalisation papers for a Charles Prospere Bahin from France who became a British Subject in 1859.

Born 29 June 1896 in Prestwich, Manchester. GJT was the son of Charles Emile and Elizabeth Maud Bahin. Charles E was a Vicar, born in Taunton, Somerset. In 1911 Charles was a Widower and they lived at 99 Lloyd Street, Greenheys, Manchester with Charles' unmarried sister and a servant. GJT was described as Student Medical even though he was only aged 14. He died circa 1971 in Folkestone, Kent.
