Alfred Tramu was a parfumier in Aix-les-Bains. See patrimoine.auvergnerhonealpes.fr/dossier/hotel-de-voyageu... and books.google.com/books?id=RIc7Ddj5JWQC&pg=RA12-PA7&am...

swanq Good start - this document has him in Menton as well (in the winter), selling cyclamens from Aix-les-Bains: archive.org/stream/expositionfranco00fran/expositionfranc... That link you found describes Tramu's building activities in the 1890s, so if this stereograph is accurately dated to the 1860s then it must have been a previous shop, or else could be Menton? Can't find any addresses in Menton for him though.

However, no sooner had I posted that than I found this: www.delcampe.net/fr/collections/cartes-postales/france/me... Note the rounded doorway and the large balconied building on the left, adjacent to the Tramu boutique, and then consider the view around the Place Saint Roch, up the Avenue Felix Faure in Menton: goo.gl/maps/w348nqw8xxR43p4f8 The shop on the corner is even still a perfumery! It's hard to see exactly the right angle up the road to the left of the perfume shop (Rue Partouneaux), but if you move around in streetview you can see the matching buildings.

Fraser Pettigrew : great work! As an aside, I found at www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/33008/page/46/data.pdf that Tramu was listed as entitled to style himself as "By Appointment to the late Queen Victoria" in 1925.

Good detective work Fraser Pettigrew. I believe that is the same building (if you're looking for more old photos of Menton, there is a Facebook page entitled "Menton du passé au présent"). I wonder what the festival is. Their Fête du Citron didn't start until 1875.
