I gather this pic was taken on 25th February, 1932, when the Mariposa arrived in Sydney and was being berthed at East Circular Quay. Per the shipping intelligence she was initially berthed at East Circular Quay No. 2 wharf and later moved to West Circular Quay, No.4 wharf...from where she departed late evening on 27th February, 1932. This was the first occasion that the Mariposa had visited Sydney. trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/4431868 - a picturegram (ie. photo sent via telephone) version of this pic appeared in the Melbourne Argus on 26th February, 1932...per the Argus the pic was taken the previous day when the Mariposa arrived in Sydney... trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/142422921 - a slightly better version appeared in the Melbourne Australasian on 5th March, 1932...
