In memory – Lois Duncan Steinmetz Arquette (1934 - 2016)

Lois Duncan, the prolific writer of young adult suspense novels whose most personally written book detailed the unsolved homicide of her own daughter, died in her home June 15, 2016. She was 82.

This photograph of her (above) is a beautiful remembrance -- she is radiant! The photograph below is the Florida Memory photograph I think of when I think of Lois Duncan Steinmetz Arquette ;) She learned to play the accordion from her mom!

Photographer's daughter Lois Duncan Steinmetz playing the accordion during an excursion aboard the shantyboat "Lazy Bones" c.1947.
Photograph by her dad, Joseph Janney Steinmetz
Lois is survived by her husband, Don; daughters Robin Arquette Burkin and Kerry Arquette; and sons Brett Arquette and Donnie Arquette.

There's an article in today's Albuquerque Journal.

You can look at many other awesome photographs of Lois Duncan in the Florida Memory collection.
