Started life as a Lockheed P-80C-1-LO Shooting Star 48-356, modified into a two-seat T-33A-1-LO, then into the 1st prototype YF-94A Starfire (company Model 780) with 1st flight on 16 Apr 49. Shown here with standard non-afterburning Allison J33 and an added canopy bow frame, retrofitted to most a/c. Later converted into the prototype YF-94B. Eventually retired and displayed at Lackland AFB, TX. Preserved today @ the Edwards AFFTC Museum ("Awaiting Restoration").
