The photograph actually shows the keel of a ship. Skeleton is not the right term for the framework of a ship - they are usually referred to as being in frame.

There's only 10 blokes in this football side - looks like the goalie had gone missing. Or perhaps he'd been sent off even before the game had begun. I like the guy far right in the back row. Looks like he wanted to disown the rest of the side. The sunshine throws unfortunate light on all their paunches, but they look a tough crowd and I wouldn't have fancied playing them.
