Caption: Stan Bollacker, president of the Rocky Ford Community Hospital board, turns the first shovel of soil marking ground breaking for an addition to Pioneers Nursing Home. Also participating in this January 1972 ceremony were (left to right) Rev John Oyer, hospital chaplain; Lloyd King, building superintendent; Rocky Ford mayor-elect Keith Records; Vernon Rhoades, president of the hospital and nursing home board;Kenneth Schmidt, hospital and nursing home administrator; and Frank Holder, member of hospital board's building committee. The hospital and nursing home are administered by Mennonite Board of Missions, Elkhart, IN, through its Health and Welfare division.
