I was scanning the tyre tracks on the road to see what could be seen and there isn't a car or tractor tyre in sight! Imagine how much time has passed since that image was captured? Imagine all the generations of dogs, horses and people that have come and gone since then and the changes that have taken place. All the while this wonderful snapshot has stopped time in its tracks and nothing has changed therein! Fantastic!!!

I've been keeping an eye out wondering if the Library has a photograph of my ancestor Charles Brindley, master of the Ward Union Hunt. If NLI has photos of any of my ancestors, I'm betting he's the most likely one you'd have.

Will certainly keep an eye out myself... We also have this book: catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000142591 presumably Jim Brindley is also a relative?

I've seen the monument (in photos, not in person. I've only been to Ireland once and couldn't do it all in one go). Jim was Charles' son and succeeded him as Master of the Hunt of the Ward Union. So a great-great-granduncle of mine. I found out about the book after my trip and saw that you had a copy. If only I'd known before my trip! Most of the rest of my Irish relatives were farmers from Munster so I doubt there are many photos or mentions of them.

Looks like the two Gentlemen took good care of those Dogs. Nice photo.
