The invention of the telescope Historians are not absolutely sure who invented the telescope, but it is known that in 1608 a Dutch spectacle maker, Hans Lipperhey, announced a new lens-based seeing instrument that made distant objects appear much closer. People will say how unhealthy the food was back then...but you don't see obese people in these photos. Could it be this was a time before our food was injected with so many chemicals?

could it be that they couldn't afford to eat regularly?
