"Godfrey" is Lt. McDonald 'Chan' Godfrey (May 18, 1924 - July 27, 1997). On July 31, 1944, he was shot down by FLAK near Baugge, Belgium, he'd spend the rest of the conflict as a Prisoner of War (POW). His entry at the Imperial War Museum's (IWM) American Air Museum website reads, "Prisoner of War (POW)-07/31/44-04/29/45 After war, joined NYANG- served as pilot, Ops Off & commander. Retired 1979 as colonel, NYANG. Traveled world wide & received many awards . Last assignment involved flying ski equipped C-130's off Greenland ice cap." "Bob" Frascotti (February 13, 1923 - June 6, 1944) - Killed instantly while taking-off in a P-51D (USAAF Ser. No. 43-6685) during the early morning hours of June 6, 1944. Frascotti's P-51 collided with a poorly lit control tower that was under construction at Bodney. Frascotti was to fly as part of the operations supporting D-Day.
