    This seems to be from the City Road / Myrtle Street intersection. Two of the gate pillars are still there - Google Street View - g.co/maps/b77kz . Can anyone see any (steam) tram lines? The tramway to Newtown opened on 2 October 1882, which might make this photo before then.
