  Brings back a lot of memories (It is my understanding that Ricou Browning, underwater photographer and expert swimmer who worked at Silver Springs played the Creature!)

  Yes. Mr. Browning portrayed "the Creature" in the water while Ben Chapman portrayed him on land. Mr. Browning continued on in the film making business as a producer and director.
