The Union G.I heavy four-engined bomber a design started at the end of 1914 by chief designer Karl Bombard of the Union-Flugzeugwerke at Teltow (near Berlin). Two engines were placed in tandem pairs at both sides of the fuselage. The machine was judged too slow by the German army and was not ordered. The rudder section consisted of three parallel rudders, clearly seen on this picture. Another sample of the Union G.I was built by the Daimler firm who wanted to enter the aviation business, probably slightly improved. Daimler halted further development of this design and the Union firm ended operation in 1915.

This an Austro-Hungarian design of the firm Oesterreichisch-Ungarische Flugzeugfabrik "Aviatik", which had no connection to the German Aviatik aircraft firm. This heavy four-engined bomber remained a prototype only and was never given the identification G.I, as this was a German identification for bomber aircraft not used by the A-H forces. Aviation historians identify this designs with the serial number allotted by the A-H forces, in this case than Aviatik 30.17. A second machine was also built (30.18) which differed as ailerons were also fitted to the lower wing.
