  beachcomber australia This is not as clear as the others, if only they images were in colour! It does say she was in a 'printed chiffon' dress, and this one doesn't appear to be printed. We were thinking this one might be her: bit.ly/LDg8Nl

  beachcomber australia Yes, there are rather a lot aren't there? If this is her, it is of special significance because it is such an early portrait. The other numerous (but poor quality) photos that appear in the society pages are from the mid-late 30's. I think these newspaper articles on Deetje Andriesse are of particular interest -

  This one, nla.gov.au/nla.news-article40994836, is clear, but it doesn't look much like her. The description we included above from the newspaper report of the JAVA event seems similar to this woman's clothing, however, it is difficult to say for sure that it is her.
