This is what I fear is lost. My hope is that people will post pictures of these things today and we can link them through the comments. They made so many wonderful things for us to enjoy. So many of their projects are being lost, forgotten, rebuilt and destroyed. I feel an urgency to get people to seek out and photograph these bits of our history. Hi, I'm an admin for a group called CCC, Civilian Conservation Corps Photos, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

What I find so amazing about these photos is how similar the stone/rock work is!!! If you look at the stones used on this bridge and the ones in my photos they look like the same ones. I bet they are even the same colors!! In the FDR Park here in Georgia, it is filled with works by the CCC Camps. I only live 12 miles from it and just love to go and look at the craftsmanship there!! This is just an amazing photo and work!! I would love to see more work and bridges like this around our United States!!!

It's not really of King St. (now O'Rahilly St. - I did find a King St. in Ballina, NSW though...) I think it was taken from somewhere around here (OSI link). You can see the footbridge above.

It seems so unlikely to be a street given the rural surroundings. That looks more like a weir or salmon trap down there than a footbridge. I suspect that the footbridge was a later adaptation of the access!

Swordscookie There's both a "footbridge" and a salmon weir marked on the 25" OSI. But it's a bit unclear as to how the footbridge is supposed to work....

Swordscookie Sharon Corbet From the bridge to the start of the weir is the famous "Ridge Pool" the most productive salmon pool in the land. I have fished it before. I would think that all the workings we see in the river are to do with Salmon management and commercial fishing.
