After passing through a series of operators, this aircraft (PH-TGA, Douglas Serial No. 44076/391) would meet its end after an in-flight engine fire resulted in a non-fatal landing accident at San Juan Airport (SLJN) in San Juan, Bolivia on February 6, 1974. At that time the aircraft was owned and operated by ALCON (Aerolineas Comerciales Nacionales) with the registration CP-947. Due to the damage sustained (nose gear collapse and forward fuselage), the aircraft was written off.
