  Charles Robert Seymour MD, 1870-1952. Enlisted in the National Guard as a Private in 1888 (age 18), graduated Albany Medical College 1892. He returned to his home of Binghamton and established his practice there. (books.google.com/books?id=AitYAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA475&d...) He was commissioned as a lieutenant in the National Guard in 1898 and, except for a few years as Assistant Surgeon ('99-'03) spent most of his time in the National Guard in infantry and artillery.
