  cinematreasures.org/theaters/13470 615 N. Manhattan Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502 "The Miller Theater opened on May 1, 1926. The opening movie was “Paris at Midnight” with Lionel Barrymore. On August 26, 1930 it was renamed Varsity Theater, and on February 25, 1936 under new owners was renamed Sonsa Theater. On May 23, 1951 it became the Campus Theater. In the late-1990’s the Campus Theater was purchased by Carmike. The Campus Theater was closed in 1998, and was taken over by the adjacent Varney’s Bookstore. That closed in 2016, and it has now gone into other retail use." Streetview 2018
