    This is backside of Namdaemun Gate (남대문), one of the Eight Gates of Seoul. As per Wikipedia: Officially known as the Sungnyemun, is one of the Eight Gates in the Fortress Wall of Seoul, South Korea, which surrounded the city in the Joseon dynasty. The gate is located in Jung-gu between Seoul Station and Seoul Plaza, with the historic 24-hour Namdaemun market next to the gate.     Artolog: Thanks for finding the matching image with differing location information in the Gallica website. Its great to have the men identified as Moroccan and the name of the press agency, Agence Meurisse, who were probably responsible for the image which Bain copied. We will include some of these details in the image description when we update. Seems like the Gallica website may be a fruitful source for more information about some of the Bain World War I images.
