The Anspach fountain erected 1897 is still located at southern part of the place (was moved later to the center of the Place, and still went to another location in 1979.). The tramways rails are visible near the soldiers. The Continental hotel behind the monument was renovated in 1961. Actually before the canailsation of the Senne River, there was a Church (Eglise des Augustines) demolished for those works when the Place de Brouckère was constructed. ph@live.com.mx .
