  Interesting. This is the area of the foreshore that is being currently taken over by the caravan park, and denied public access, one of many in recent times.

  imbala From the curve of the creek I think it is looking south from the road bridge towards the pedestrian bridge; caravan park on the right. ie the reverse view of what you are suggesting. Google Maps street view - g.co/maps/gd7n8 . I wonder if the man on the bridge with his (grand?) children was in the original photo?
