The fuselage of B-52E (B-52E-50-BW), USAF Ser. No. 57-0101 (c/n 464-090), in the midst of being converted into a mock-up for the General Dynamics AGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missile proposal, the Air-Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) variant of the Tomahawk, which would lose to a stretched version of the Boeing AGM-86 (AGM-86B) for the US Air Force. After it completed this role, the cockpit section of this aircraft would later be separated from the fuselage and preserved as a museum exhibit at the San Diego Air & Space Museum's Gillespie Field Annex. It is currently on exhibit in Hawaii, at the Pacific Aviation Museum, on Ford Island, Pearl Harbor.
