Vernona Jarbeau, a comic actress from New York, best known for her Gilbert & Sullivan roles... diamond.boisestate.edu/GaS/whowaswho/I-J/JarbeauVernona.htm In 1885 in Chicago, she married Jefferson D. Bernstein, a theatrical manager. As a new widow in 1911, she retired to a farm to raise cattle and bulldogs. She died in 1914.
