Before the formal opening of a gorsedd the presiding bard stood on the central stone to deliver his address in Welsh. I wonder if the large stone that is lying on the floor in the centre of the image was meant to represent such a "Logan Stone" for the start of this gorsedd?

The harpist is Edward Wood, my GGGrandad, descendent of Abram Wood, from the family of Welsh Gypsies.

Bhas & Nessie I spoke today with one of Edward’s descendants now living in Canada, Frances Riley Roberts. The Woods and Roberts dominated the Welsh harp and music culture for over a century and played before royalty on a number of occasions. Frances’ family stories and recollections will be part of a Romani and Traveller heritage project for CADW, the Welsh heritage agency. It’s an important contribution to Welsh history and we are very proud of our famous ancestors, those of us who are still Romani…
