I am not an expert on Canberra, but this would appear to be a view looking northeast over Griffith, Kingston and Fyshwick towards the location of Canberra Airport. The military college is in the background on the left side of the photo.

The cleared circle visible at the left edge of the photo would appear to be Collins Park.

the photo would be around 1935. I Grew up in 61 Leichhardt St where my parents moved in in late 1935 when that house had just been completed. The house is just recognisable to the right of the space that is now Eastlake Oval. Other houses in the neighbourhood on Kennedy St had not yet been finished.
