  Consolidated had nothing to do with this design. Their PT-1 is a small trainer biplane for the Army. This is a Naval Aircraft Factory 'design' where they used surplus Curtiss R-6L fuselages and HS-1 wings to sort of create a 'new' design. When using the wings from HS-2s the design became the PT-2. Here PT stands for Patrol-Torpedo compared to Primary Trainer with the Army Consolidated design. Stig
