    Niall McAuley Wait. I think you're in the right place, but wrong direction. The photo is looking up Donegall Place, with City Hall behind the photographer. The street behind has the same shape as in this photo. It's taken in the morning.

    The sailor on the left has a badge on his right arm that looks like it could be a Royal Navy physical trainer badge 2nd class which was a pair of crossed clubs with a star above and a star below. Swordscookie I think you are right about the officer on the right not being a civilian. Its difficult to see exactly whats on his collar badge but it looks like two crossed guns with a star above which would indicate a gunlayer, if they are crossed torpedos that would indicate a leading torpedo man. I believe the stripes on the right sleeves of both mens uniforms indicate overseas service, one stripe for each 12 months.
