its a stereoview, not a stereogram. A stereogram is a single composite 3D (or animated) image that uses a barrier screen to hide the opposing parts of the 3D image from the left and right eyes respectively.

Is the photographer up on Saint Mary's Cathedral?

The photo was obviously taken up on Saint Mary's Cathedral tower. The Shannon Rowing Club is missing here and it was founded by Sir Peter Tait in 1868 and has a very elegant clubhouse on the northern side. Assumption 1 - Before 1868 But the Limerick Rowing Club was founded in 1870 and has a simpler structure on the southern side. Assumption 2 - After 1870, There is no sign of The Dock Clock down in Steamboat Quay which was built in 1880. Assumption 3 - Before 1880 Final Date Assumption is 1867 National Library of Ireland, what say you?

I have been pouring over these photos with such curiosity and intensity and the more I look at these images the more my heart skips a beat just to see my home as I have never been seen before. I almost feel like I have been living in 1890 Limerick for the past few weeks, and as such, I have become intimately acquainted with Oul Limerick.

That is where these warehouses were, fronting on to east Circular Quay. The recognizable buildings of the National School (National Trust now) and The Observatory (just built in 1858) help with triangulation. Looking west from Government House gardens (Tarpeian Way?) HETZER, 287, George-street, has much pleasure in announcing that he has just completed his STEREOSCOPIC ALBUM OF SYDNEY AND ENVIRONS. Mr. HETZER has made this publication for some time past the subject of careful study, and flatters himself that it will be found in every respect equal to the best English productions of a like nature. It will form a gratifying souvenir and an interesting and valuable present for friends at home. The ALBUM comprises a succession of views, presenting a correct and graphic illustration of the Site and Character of our Fine Metropolis, guiding the spectator from the entrance of the Harbour, along its picturesque shores, to the Quays and Principal Buildings, and making him acquinted with the Australian Bush, &c. The ALBUM contains 36 slides, and one additional one taken expressly for the subscriber, representing either a Likeness, Family Group, or any other subject, or, instead of this, six additional slides of his collection, whioh consists of about 80 different views. The price of subscription is £5 5s.
