    The gun camera on the nose (visible on another photo of this airplane) indicates older model than P-38L-1. The P-38J-25 was first with a dive flaps and the last with the gun camera on the nose. The landing light in the leading edge was mounted in the latest airplanes of this model. Sorry for my English ;-)

    Your English is fine with me - and thank you for the clarification. I had noted the camera port in the nose, but seeing the landing light in the wing just caused me to presume it was automatically an "L."
