    Thanks, Nice to see what it looked like as only the platforms are left now. The Derry/Londonderry train still goes through the station but the branch line from Limavady to Dungiven closed in 1952. I'll try and get a photo of it from this position to compare after work.     On second thoughts the links posted by guliolopez show just how little is left of this once busy station. The station was opened by the Londonderry and Coleraine Railway as Newton Junction on 1 March 1855. It was renamed Limavady Junction on 1 October 1875. At that time, new station buildings were provided to designs by the architect John Lanyon. It closed on 17 October 1976 and the buildings demolished in the early 1980's.

    Niall McAuley Wait. I think you're in the right place, but wrong direction. The photo is looking up Donegall Place, with City Hall behind the photographer. The street behind has the same shape as in this photo. It's taken in the morning.

Next one (opening September) is Small Lives - photos from our collections that have children as their focus. Otherwise search our catalogue with Show Digitised Items Only box clicked.
