  The Ordnance Survey Historical Map shows that the Imperial and Adelphi hotels were both on the site where the modern Tower Hotel is built. So, closer to the river than you have it now, the far side of Lombard Street. Adelphi Quay is still so named, even though the hotel name is gone.
