According to the research of curators of a portrait at the New-York Historical Society, "Sybil Katherine Sherman was the daughter of W. Watts Sherman (d. 1912) and Annie Derby Rogers Wetmore, daughter of William Shepard Wetmore and niece of Governor George Peabody Wetmore of Rhode Island. She was the first of three wives of John Ellis Hoffman; they were divorced in 1904 and a year later the subject was married to Norrie Sellar (d. 1932), a prominent London and New York cotton broker." They give her dates as circa 1875-1955.

This indicates that Audrey married a Clinton, which in turn suggests that the 1915 debutante picture of "Audrey Hoffman, mother of Audrey Clinton" on fashionhistorian.net/blog/2013/11/21/more-holiday-gift-bo... is the same Audrey Hoffman as in this Bain picture. Audrey's 1975 death was reported in the Newport Mercury on May 9, 1975 -- www.newspapers.com/newspage/16223265/
