US Navy Douglas R5D-3 Skymaster, BuNo 56547 (c/n 22199). This aircraft would eventually enter commercial service, initially as N96450, before being registered as N74AF. As per cgibin.rcn.com/jeremy.k/cgi-bin/gzNavySearch.pl?target=Do...: Leased and then bought by West Indies Air Transport. While taxiing at Aguadilla-Borinquen Airport in Puerto Rico Feb 3, 1992, suffered a hydraulics failure and struck the right wing of parked Super Constellation HI-542CT and ran into a ditch. A fire broke out and N74AF was [Damaged Beyond economical Repair ("DBR")]. Here is a July 2014 photo of the remaining hulk of this aircraft at Aguadilla-Borinquen Airport (BQN / TJBQ) by Flickr user Sander: www.flickr.com/photos/xxsander99/14841594953/

Any location or date for this photo?

FireChief2 Sorry, no. However, many of the photos from this collection were taken in Hawaii, so that would be a good guess.

The "No. 18" on the nose identifies this aircraft as Pan American Airways' Boeing 314, NC18602, California Clipper.

This is indeed Pan American's Clipper mooring location on the southwest portion of the Pearl City Peninsula at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. See: goo.gl/maps/CG8F4GNXo7G2 www.masonarch.com/research-library/Navy%20Housing%20Pearl...

Photo is sharp enough to read the BuAer tailcone number 124254 making it a P2V-4 model (Lockheed serial no 426-2044)
