    Sedan Day is described at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedantag It was a holiday in Germany on September 2nd, last celebrated in 1918, celebrating their defeat of France at Sedan in 1870 in the Franco-Prussian war. The significance in 1914, was that Germany was at war again and hoping for another such victory.

    That's Unter den Linden, you can see the Zeughaus. The soldiers are from the prussian Gardekorps, but from different regiments: The marching infantrymen are Grenadiers or Fusiliers, the two officers on horse are from artillery (note their helmets).
