Look at the range of expressions; the adults smiling, convinced that the place they're going to is better than the one they're leaving, the oldest boy staying stoic, not convinced that lost friends and being the kid with the funny accent and clothes will be worth it, the middle kids excited about the big trip on a big boat, and the little ones just overwhelmed with the energy of it all... I wonder where they wound up? One of my contacts put up some vintage pics of hot dog day in an Ontario high school in 1962, the two babies would've been the right age.
