    The aeroplane is a Pfalz DIII. These aircraft had a good performance for the time and were well liked by their pilots but it was by its contempory the Albatross which was flwon by many aces such as Von Richthofen.

    Although a German bomber, this cannot be qualified as a 'giant' bombers produced in Germany during WW1. The picture shows an A.E.G. G.IV twin-engined bomber.

    The AEG G.IV was numbered G 588/17 and is seen in Amiens, soon after it was brought down on May 16th 1918. See Windsock Datafile 51 for more photos of this particular aircraft. Other AEG G.IV
