Ventura Mk. I AE658 (Model 37-21-01). This is the first of just under 700 Venturas (based on the Model 18 Lodestar airframe) ordered by the RAF in 1940, and made its first flight on July 31, 1941, powered by two 1850 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800 S1A4-G Double Wasps. The aircraft was equipped with a turret, but no armament was fitted on the maiden flight, or in this photo.
